Student Blogging Challenge #4

Student Blogging Challenge

Starvation. Pain. Suffering. Death.

Many of us are total strangers to these emotions. We are living in well off homes, eating three meals a day, never feeling that deep, terrible booming in our stomachs. Never looking at ourselves in the mirror, ribs as prominent as ever, thinking, “I’m going to die. I can’t do this. A bowl of rice for today just wasn’t enough.”

In the world that we live in, there is a terrific abundance of food. Plenty of nourishing meals for every single person in our world. But there is an inequality in access to these world resources. There are 578 million starving people in Asia Pacific alone and about 1 billion people who are malnourished globally.

Fighting Hunger Worldwide <– click to watch video

Hunger causes more deaths in the world than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. This information needs to be shared. Help us create awareness of this issue and solve it! Only $50 will feed a child for one whole year. Donate now!

There are many causes that support this terrible global issue. You can help by donating, more just participating for free! For example, FreeRice is a trivia website where every question you get right, you are donating 10 grains of rice to those in need. It is fun, but for all good causes! you can either click on the link above, or click on the FreeRice widget on the right.

Click here for more information on malnourishment, or click here for another more detailed post of mine about hunger all over the world. Support us and feed a child today!
